Propagation Month, Day 4: Sowing Flats of Coleus Seeds

A quick and easy project today, but one that I hope works out because I love coleus. I found this packet of coleus seeds in my seed box but they're from 2003 so I'm not expecting a terrific germination rate.

I used a 50/50 mix of perlite and potting mix, moistened it, and packed it into four cardboard baskets that some mushrooms came in. The seeds are oh so tiny so I tried to sprinkle them as evenly as possible, then just lightly pressed them into the soil. Since coleus need light to germinate, I'll move them into the mini-greenhouse outside tomorrow.
