Cindy, I love chasmanthe, but if you plant it be prepared for it to be somewhat aggressive. It was a volunteer in my back yard and within two years it had grown to a rather large clump, which I recently transplanted to the front yard.
I'm surprised that Round Up could be possibly be getting organic certification. Do you have a link or any info about it? Given the nasty ingredients in it, it seems to me they'd have to radically change the formula to get organic certification. Either that or, as some have warned, the organic certification process has been rendered toothless.
Thanks for the photos from California. I spent most of my life in the Bay Area but relocated to Florida several years ago. Your photos made me homesick. Rees Cowden No Brown Thumbs!
Just yesterday, I was toying with the idea of adding Chasmanthe to the garden. How do you like it?

P.S. Did you know that Round Up is very close to receiving an organic certification (if it hasn't already)?
